Featuring college-prep courses combined with theatre, art and music, Conservatory Prep Senior High provides and environment to enhance the creativity and intellectual curiosity of the gifted learner.

Conservatory Prep Senior High has been a culmination of the combined visions of concerned members of the community, educators, the Fort Lauderdale Children's Theatre and my own. Having myself experienced a variety of educational settings, including a Waldorf school, public and prep schools, it is paramount that education must take place in a safe and nurturing environment. An environment where individuality is respected and one's own identity is fostered.

The shared vision of a school where a student's individual needs are met, where subjects are studied in depth for understanding, and where a community of learners is developed through the arts, has finally become a reality. Conservatory prep realizes that every student has a gift and all students with desire can achieve. It is my conviction that rote memorization and teaching to the test does not prepare an individual for higher education, nor for life.

The mission of Conservatory Prep Senior High is to build a strong learning community amongst its students and faculty by infusing the passion of the cultural arts and experiential learning into the curriculum. Conservatory Prep was designed for the creative, inquisitive learner who prefers a nurturing environment geared towards freedom of expression through the arts.

Core academic areas of math, Latin, science, English and Social Studies are intertwined with the arts. Imagine learning about the American Revolution through song, art and dances of the time; or performing Shakespeare as part of an English assignment.

Conservatory Prep's rigorous academic program exceeds the Florida state standards, enabling our students to be very competitive for top colleges. Our math and Latin courses are both designed to incorporate the skills needed to be successful on the SAT and ACT exams. Susan Groden, owner of the College Advisor, will provide individual college counseling to each family to make sure all students are on track starting in eighth grade and will seek out the best college for your child. The fall of the senior year is the time to concentrate on submitting applications and writing 'the essay'. We will have professionals assisting with the process every step of the way.

Students come to us from all ethnic, religious, cultural and economic backgrounds. We strive to promote citizenship by teaching our students to learn from and respect each other’s differences and celebrate each other’s accomplishments.

Conservatory Prep's rigorous academic program exceeds the Florida state standards, enabling our students to be very competitive for top colleges. Conservatory Prep is housed in the David Posnack J.C.C. in Davie. The 40 acre state of the art building contains amenities comparable and exceeding most other schools in South Florida.
