On December 17th, Conservatory Prep Students held their end-of-term Academic Review Performance. The Academic Review showcase in which the students show off what they have learned throughout the semester through the arts. Students wrote original songs influenced by the opera Aida, created a film in Spanish, wrote a story for African studies, created a podcast to relate some of their math concepts to real life, and in Chemistry created a painting and powerpoint to show how chemistry is used to restore artwork. The psychology class created a skit discussing teenagers and texting, a topic which sparked heated debate in the classroom.
The Academic Review is more than just an academic talent show. This is an opportunity for our students to learn to work together as a group to achieve a common goal, resolve conflicts and work on their presentation techniques. Students had to move beyond their comfort zone and present to their fellow classmates and their parents and friends.
Always a great evening, where everyone feels a sense of pride.
